Does not work
Downloaded app so I could read on airplane, but could never get the magazine to download. Something about the zip file being corrupted or could not contact the server. All other magazine I purchased downloaded correctly and on the first time. Emailed tech support 3 times hoping I could read on my return flight but received no response. I would have expected better from Wine Spectator.
App doesn’t work
I’ve never complained about an app but this is the first. I installed the app, paid the for the annual subscription but no magazines will download. I’ve emailed them 3 times over the past week but they will not respond. Bad product, horrible support. Borderline unethical!!!
Good magazine, bad app, nonexistent customer service
by SandC Chicago
I subscribed to WS eight months ago. I have always enjoyed the magazine content. For some reason the app has not been able to download the latest issues and I have been watching the file size counter go up and drop back down to zero. The only way to contact customer service is through email and the few times I have tried I have never received a response. Time to cancel the digital subscription and cut my losses.
Can't even open
I have received the magazine intermittently for years, but I can't even get anything online from this magazine. It's terrible.
Terrible to Read
Like another reviewer, I agree this app is a terrible example of how to publish a magazine. No zoom function renders reading the pages and small font useless. Love the magazine - hate the app.
Poor delivery as a digital magazine
The digital version is just a portable version of the print magazine but done very poorly. The text and font sizes are very small which makes reading almost impossible. Until this is fixed, the print copy is a better choice. $50 for this version is like over paying for a poor quality bottle of wine.
Why charge twice for the same content
I have a paper subscription, decent magazine but printed in an extra-large format that is awkward to travel with or read on a plane. I should not have to pay an additional $50 a year just to read it while traveling because the print copy is too big. Most magazines provide a courtesy digital copy subscriber (Architectural Digest, etc) and this one should also, particularly given price.
